1. Data We Collect

Depending on how you use the app and the permissions you grant, we collect the following data:

• Account and profile information: details you enter such as username, gender, birth year/age, height, weight, primary sport, and an optional short bio.
• Location and route data: GPS coordinates, route, distance, speed/pace, elevation, and duration while you record an activity.
• Health and fitness data (HealthKit): heart rate, active energy, steps/cadence, workout records, and distance — including heart rate from AirPods or other Bluetooth devices.
• Subscription and purchase data: your subscription status and purchase history (payments are processed by the Apple App Store; we never see your card details).
• AI coach chat: the messages you send to the AI coach and the training context used to generate replies.
• Device and usage data: device type, operating system version, app version, language/country, installation identifier, and a device authentication token.
• Diagnostic data: crash and error logs (to keep the app stable).
• Contact data: the email and message content you share when you contact support.

2. How We Use Your Data

We process the data we collect only for the following purposes:

• To record your runs, show your route on a map, and calculate metrics such as distance, pace, and calories.
• To summarize your training history and let the AI coach provide personalized guidance.
• To activate, verify, and manage your subscription.
• To keep the app working and secure, fix bugs, and improve the experience.
• To provide you with support when you request it.

3. HealthKit Data

When you grant permission, Runity reads health and fitness data (for example heart rate, calories, cadence, and workouts) through Apple HealthKit, and can write completed runs back to HealthKit.

We use data from HealthKit solely to provide you with training and health insights inside the app. We NEVER use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, data mining, or similar purposes that are not for your benefit, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for such purposes.

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time from the Settings or Health app on your iPhone.

4. Location Data

We use location data only when you are actively recording an activity, in order to draw your route and calculate distance and pace. For accurate tracking, and if you allow it, the app may use your location in the background.

You can change the location permission in your device settings at any time; GPS-based recording may not work if you do.

5. AI Coach and Chat

When you send a message to the AI coach, your message and the relevant training context are sent to our service provider OpenAI to generate a reply. We do not use this data for advertising.

Raw chat messages are retained for a limited period (about 30 days by default) and then automatically deleted. A short summary memory may be kept so the coach can maintain context.

6. Third-Party Services

To provide Runity, we work with trusted service providers. Each accesses only the data needed for its function:

• Apple (HealthKit, App Store, and StoreKit) — health data access and subscription/payment processing.
• RevenueCat — verification and management of subscription status.
• OpenAI — generation of AI coach replies.
• Sentry — crash and error monitoring.

7. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell your personal data. We share your data only with the service providers listed above, and only to the extent needed to provide the service to you. We may also share data when we have a legal obligation to do so or where necessary to protect our rights.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service to you. Raw AI chat messages are deleted within the period noted above. When you request deletion of your account, we delete your associated data, subject to any legal retention obligations.

9. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. While no method is 100% secure, we maintain industry-standard safeguards to protect your data.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR or KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, and to receive a copy of it.

11. Children's Privacy

Runity is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age applicable in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us.

12. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored on servers outside your country (for example in the European Union or the United States). For such transfers, we take appropriate measures to ensure your data is protected in accordance with applicable law.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will always post the current version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we will provide appropriate notice.
